Apukka Aurora Borealis Resort

Northern Lights gazing in the Finnish wilderness, including half board, all travel and a plethora of Arctic adventures, plus an optional ice log cabin stay

  • Set within a forest glade surrounded by trees, your rural hideaway is the epic Apukka Aurora Borealis Resort, a new addition to Finnish Lapland that feels refreshingly remote, yet is just around 20 minutes from the small city of Rovaniemi.

  • You won’t get cabin fever here with the amount of optional activities on offer, from exploring the countryside by a reindeer-pulled sleigh, to hunting for the Northern Lights by snow train. You can also opt to spend a night out in the wilderness in an Aurora Wagon - a truly unforgettable experience.

  • Dine on Scandi classics like cured salmon and lingonberry relish in the resort’s central café, and buffet breakfasts to fill you up before you head out into the cold. All meals are served in the cafe, where you can also enjoy complimentary coffee all day.

  • There are a number of traditional wooden saunas and hot tubs, as well as an epic ice sauna and lakeside sauna for warming up in the freezing temperatures.

Good to know

Please be aware that the Northern Lights are a naturally occurring phenomenon, so whilst we hope you'll get to see them, we can't guarantee they'll oblige.

Please note that Ice Log cabins are, indeed, made of ice and are equipped with sleeping bags designed to keep you warm but if at any point you wish to move to warmer interiors, you may return to your Aurora cabin. It is entirely up to you to decide whether you want to try this true Arctic experience or not, but if you do stay the night, you will receive a diploma to commemorate this unforgettable night.
