You'll also enjoy a trip to the Blue Nile Waterfalls, a 42-metre-high waterfall otherwise known as the ‘great smoke’ in the local Amharic language. Check into Delano Hotel.

Day 2: Bahir Dar

After breakfast today, cross the Nile in a barge, ascend to Bezait Palace and soak up the views of Lake Tana and the Blue Nile, then admire the resident pod of hippos from a bridge nearby.
